MONROE FIRE DEPARTMENT
MECHANICAL SERVICES DIVISION
Monroe Fire Department'sHeadquarters Fire Station is the location of the East Snohomish County Regional Maintenance Program.  With a staff  of 1 Operations Supervisor(Fire Captain), and 5 Mechanics, the Regional Shop services more than 350 pieces of equipment for local Governmental Agencies.

Services provided by the shop range from drop in service or repair requests, to fully monitored and scheduled preventive maintenance programs.  The Regional Shop has also established itself as a speciality facility specializing in electrical troubleshooting, vehicle outfitting, and installations of emergency equipment.  The program recently celebrated its third full year of operation in Monroe and has proven itself to be an indispensable resource to the agencies it provides services to.  Maintaining Emergency Services Equipment and Apparatus in a constant state of readiness is the top priority of the program.  Reliable preventative maintenance is the best way to reduce the potential for delayed emergency response due to mechanical failure as well as possible litigation against municipalities due to lack of documented maintenance and repairs.

With nearly 100 years of experience and more than 40 certifications collectively, the maintenance professionals at the Regional Shop have what it takes to get the job done right!
Staying current with today's automotive and heavy duty truck's ever evolving technology is no small task.  The benefit of a regional approach means that each individual agency doesn't have to attempt to keep on top of the technology curve.  The Regional Shop Mechanics are sent to as many continuing education classes as are available in an effort to stay current.  Specialized tools and diagnostic equipment can be costly and impractical for small organiations to maintain.  The Regional and Cooperative approach benefits all agencies involved by eliminating the need and thus the expense of maintaining their own shop personnel and facilities.

Since it's inception in 1996, 25 Governmental Agencies have utilized the regional shop program.  They are:
